PEARSON BTEC NATIONAL EXTENDED CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC PERFORMANCE (603/3027/2)
INTRODUCTION
The qualification is equivalent in size to one A Level and aims to provide a programme of study covering both performance and the music industry. You will continue your education through applied learning in practical musicianship, giving you the opportunity to focus on your personal vocal or instrumental technique through solo and ensemble performance.
Employers and professional bodies have been consulted to confirm that the content is appropriate and consistent with current practice, should you wish to enter employment directly in the music sector.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A practical Music qualification at Grade 4, OR an audition via recommendation.

COURSE STRUCTURE
This specification is designed to be taken over two years. At the end of the second year, students will have achieved four units:

This qualification carries UCAS points, supporting entry to higher education courses in a wide range of disciplines. It develops transferable and higher-order skills that are valued by higher education providers and employers, for example performance techniques, communication skills and team working.
