INTRODUCTION
The Level 3 BTEC in Business is a dynamic and vocationally focused qualification designed to provide students with the essential knowledge, skills, and understanding required for a successful career in the business sector. This course integrates theoretical principles with practical applications, ensuring students develop real-world competencies in key business areas.
The qualification is structured around core business disciplines, equipping learners with a comprehensive understanding of how businesses operate and thrive in a competitive environment.
The primary components include:
Exploring Business functions, including Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Customer Service. Exploring the principles of marketing and market research techniques including the evolving digital trends in consumer behaviour. Pitching for a new business, developing entrepreneurial skills by planning and presenting a business idea to an informed audience. As an option, learners will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience through placements or simulated business environments. Developing employability skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem solving. A chance to apply and understand professional conduct, workplace ethics, and expectations.
The overall Certificate and Subsidiary Diploma are both graded: Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction*. Mandatory Units need to be achieved with at least a pass in order to achieve the qualification. This qualification qualifies for UCAS points and could be cashed in as an AS equivalent or A2.

Furthermore, students will be given the option to register for the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) programme. They will lead their own projects and apply enterprising traits and skills that will enrich their chosen A-level in Travel & Tourism.
The enrichment programme, EPQ, is designed to extend and develop students' abilities beyond the A-level syllabus and prepare for university or their future career. They will take responsibility for the choice, design and decision making of an individual project.
