All applicants need to attend an interview and will be required to sit the College diagnostic tests. This will determine the English and Mathematics programme followed.
The delivery and assessment of this qualification takes a ‘hands on’ approach. The final assessment of the units will be a combination of internally assessed practical tasks and an externally assessed multiple-choice examination. The suitability of the learner in the workshop environment will be assessed during the first few weeks of term. If appropriate, learners will continue with the practical elements of the programme. Otherwise, an alternative fall back route will be followed, consisting of bespoke ASDAN short courses, relevant to the local Engineering and Technology industry.
