INTRODUCTION
This programme provides learners with the opportunity to achieve a Certificate in Personal & Social Development, together with the Core subjects: English, Maths and ICT. These qualifications provide an activity based curriculum with a framework for learners to develop skills for learning, skills for employment and skills for life. Learners should then be in a better position to seek and gain employment by demonstrating and owning a range of skills and qualities that employers look for.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Scores from the College’s Diagnostic Exam will be considered for appropriate level entry.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence. The evidence is internally assessed, internally verified, and externally moderated by an ASDAN moderator. This is a two-year course. Unit certification may be gained at the end of year 1, for completed units. Possible units of study include:

This qualification provides a baseline of employability skills from which learners can progress to a range of options, including vocational education, training and employment. Additionally, it helps them develop personal interests as well as interpersonal relationships.
ACADEMIC PROGRESSION
Successful completion of the course offers candidates progression to other Level 1 qualifications.
