INTRODUCTION
The College is dedicated to offering programmes and qualifications tailored to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Preparing for Adulthood programme, delivered through ASDAN, provides learners with meaningful, real-world experiences designed to enhance personal, social, and work-related skills.
This programme takes a person-centred approach to support learners as they transition into adult life. Through a range of Personal Progress modules, students will develop essential, transferable life skills and foundational employability abilities. The programme also includes a work placement component, alongside tutorials focused on preparing students for the workplace.
The programme is further enhanced by the inclusion of AQA Unit Awards. Through the Unit Award Scheme (UAS), students actively engage in learning and are awarded a certificate upon successfully completing each unit. This enables them to build a comprehensive portfolio that showcases their skills, knowledge, and experiences. The scheme not only boosts confidence but also increases engagement and motivation, empowering learners to make meaningful progress on their lifelong learning journey.
