OCR’s GCSE (9–1) in Mathematics provides a broad, coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. AQA FUNCTIONAL SKILLS MATHEMATICS LEVEL 1/2: LIFE SKILLS (AQA8361/8362)
Functional skills requirements are integrated within GCSE Mathematics. Reasons for taking Functional Skills at KS3 might include securing essential skills as a foundation for progression at GCSE. The focus is on:
Representing data;
Analysing situations mathematically;
Interpreting solutions to problems using mathematics;
Coverage of mathematical content in number, algebra, geometry and statistics.
There is both Level 1 and Level 2 available in this course. The Level 2 course is equivalent to a Mathematics GCSE in terms of employment.
